Landscape painter, attended RA schools in 1812-1813, exhibited 1816, views of North Wales. Travelled in Greece and Turkey during 1816-1824, and is recorded in Athens, 1818; may also have travelled in Europe and/or Near East 1826-1831, and 1835-1838. Specialized in architectural drawings, landscapes and figure subjects and was successful drawing master. Examples of his work in British Museum and Coventry Art Gallery and the Searight collection at V&A, where there are costume studies from Turkey, etc.
